Ceremony Held to Mark the Start of Demonstration of IT Operational Support System for Last Mile Transportation in Delhi, India

NEDO and the Transport Department, Government of NCT of Delhi in India have commenced the demonstration of IT Operational Support System for Last Mile Transportation in India, in collaboration with Panasonic Holdings Corporation (Panasonic HD) and ETO Motors Private Limited (ETO Motors). And an opening ceremony was held in Delhi, India on October 17.

This demonstration project aims to improve the convenience of passengers of both Delhi Metro and e-mobility (electric vehicles) as well as transportation efficiency by introducing the IT system for e-mobility in the last mile, i.e., the section from their homes etc. to the nearest boarding station or from the passengers’ disembarking station to their destination. Also, by implementing its outcome, it is expected to improve traffic congestion and reduce greenhouse gas emissions in Delhi.

The ceremony was attended by Mr. Ashish Kundra, Principal Secretary of Transport Department, Govt. of NCT Delhi, Mr. Deepankar Tiwari, Deputy Chairman of ETO Motors, Ms. HOKUGO Kyoko, Minister (Economic & Development), Embassy of Japan in India, NEDO Executive Director YUMITORI Shuji, and Mr. MURASE Yasumichi, Director of Panasonic HD, as well as many other concerned parties.
